Hi, I successfully softmodded my xbox using a tutorial I found off of lifehacker.com. I've installed unleashx. I was able to follow through the tutorial perfectly until I got to the ftp section. I can't seem to get an ftp connection from my computer to the xbox. I tried a couple of setups looking at tutorials, but failed miserably. My setup is as follows: computer running on xp connected wirelessly to a router, soft-modded xbox - have a ms wireless adapter connected to it.
I want to be able to ftp xbmc to the xbox.
My ideal setup would be to be able to watch videos/listen to music from my computer through the xbox.. and additionally be able to play games through xlink kai.
Can anybody possibly help me with this?
I'm getting frustrated trying to find the right information, as there is so much to search through.

As for kai online youll find that you must use wires the wireless setups dont work unless you run a linksys router with tthibor 15 c firmware.

Okay, but I'm not able to use XBMC just yet. I need to be able to configure the network settings on the xbox correctly so that I can ftp XBMC from the computer to the xbox.. and I'm having trouble figuring out what to put in the network settings.

I was just using fireftp.. an extension for firefox.
As a side note: I've never had any problems ftp'ing to other computers with it.

Okay, I looked at that particular guide that you linked to.. and I have a question or two.. It doesn't mention anything about what the network settings are for the xbox.. and I kind of sort of changed all the numbers around and such on there.. What should the network page look like for that particular setup? .. and should I have staticip on or dhcp on for xbox's settings?

If you have a router that it all hooks to the pc and xbox need to be on dhcp it makes it ez.
If thare is no router i wold do this.
1. set the pc up with an ip of say 192.168.001
2. set xbox up with an ip of 192.168.002
4. set the default gateway to the ip of your modem
Now if you do run a router set the pc and xbox to dhcp and tell the xbox yor default gateway is the ip of your pc.
You can find the pc ip by going to run in your start bar and type ipconfig Enter.
Let me know how that turns out for you.

Uggh.. now my xbox is flashing green and red and stating that it requires service and to call xbox customer support. That can't be good. All I did was reboot the xbox after changing some of the network settings.

Okay, all is well again with my xbox. Turns out I still had the ms adapter install cd still in the xbox tray when I happened to reboot the system.. and that seems to be what caused the red/green flashing.. when I took the cd out and started the xbox up again, all was well.
I just tried changing the settings to dhcp on the xbox and rebooted it.. and on the bottom right hand corner it has all 0's as the ip
