With my soft mod the backup is in E but the OG msdash is in C, see if you have an xboxdash.xbe in C drive and launch that if not you need to use file manager to make a copy of the xboxdash folder to the C drive and then launch it.
You might be getting the errors since the xbe is looking for the MSdash in the C drive and its not there.
Okay, I did find a file in the C drive as well called xboxdash.xbe.. and i clicked on it.. it it just gave me a black screen.. didn't seem to do anything else.
Was there a folder in the C drive titled xboxdash or just the xbe?
Im trying to figg if this softmod removes the ms dash all together.

I see what your saying now..
I setup my friends xbox using the linksys wireless game adapter. it took forever for the DHCP to take over and work correctly. Eventually the adapter linked to the game system....
I had to go into the original MSdash the green retail screen, setup the wireless setup to automatic and let the DHCP configure the wireless game adapter for me...Also went into UnleashX settings after that to enable DHCP....
GOOD LUCK WITH WHAT YOUR TRYING TO DO...... _________________

It sounds like the softmod has removed your MS dash and to get to it you need to restore it but the thing i dont know is how that softmod works.
Im not sure if reinstalling the MS dash to the C drive will muck your softmod.
You do have a evox.xbe in the C drive right?

Use this guide to recover your hdd http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html Sorry like i said i have never used that soft mod.
After you have recoverd your hdd i wold really think about useing sid 5 to softmod with a dule boot option.
This thing wold be done had you had a dule boot on there.

Woohoo! I'm pleased to announce that I have successfully recovered my xbox hd! I literally put my blood and sweat into it.. ouch. I also ended up having to find a longer ide cord because the one in my computer was far too short. But, I've got my hd back! Yayy!! Now, I'm off to try my hand at (properly?) soft-modding my box.
