Ok, I totally screwed up a softmod, had it working fine but DIVX movies would just show blank screen so I messed about with it and the HDD is now dead.
I have another XBOX which is chipped [soldered] Executer 2.6 so all I have done so far is setup a new 20GB HDD using this chipped xbox.
Here's the challenge!! I have no way as far as I can tell of obtaining the hash number that is in the eeprom of the diskless xbox to transfer to the new HDD to enable the lock/unlock requirement I have no backups
I hope you are out there Pirrup as you might as well have designed the damned thing from all the info I have read in your posts but alas I can't help but feel that even you will not have a solution for this other than chipping it but as a newbie I live in hope as well as naivety

desolder your chip and put it in the dead xbox (with a new hd)
prepare the hd with AID , install softmod and LOCK the hd .
remove the chip and voila _________________ HOTSWAP | MS dash |

Well, guess what?
I bought a 2.6 Xecuter and screwed the bios flash [got muddled up with Evox and Xecuter DOH and used a 1MB file] but took the chip from the pre modded box as they are only a push fit and flashed that one correctly [other box is 1.5 mine is 1.6] Managed to get AID2 up and as soon as that happened I switched the chip off and performed a softmod.
Might not sound much but I then had to swap the chips back and reflash the other chip back to v1.5 as the box belongs to a mate from work!! Thankfully everything is now fine.
Out of interest though and I thought perhaps this is something that you have not been asked b4: Can I flash the chip in my now softmodded box via ftp or something, what d'ya reckon Mr Pirrup?
