I have seen an xbox set up so that when you hold down a lets say right trigger while booting it will launch lets say avalaunch but booting it with out any buttens held it boots XBMC, kind of like a hot key or short cut.
Can this onley be done on the x-3 chip or can my x-2 do it and if so how?

OK i got it now here is the AVA manual http://www.teamavalaunch.com/docs/manualv2.2.pdf
So what was going on was just the Quick start function booting what ever its told even a dash here is a guick clip from the manual.
" 9) Quick start:
Quick start basically enables you to launch any application just while your Xbox is booting up by holding a button.
<righttrigger enabled="1">
<path>
F:\Games\Connect4\
</path>
<filename>
default.xbe
</filename>
</righttrigger>"
"As you can see in the example, I enabled it and pointed it all to the correct place. Now when I hold down the right trigger while booting; it will immediately go into Connect4 without needing to do anything within Avalaunch, or even seeing it."
i found the xbins dash switcher you pointed me to but i was kind of looking for something that wold let me boot to a dash if nothing is held and that program sends you to a choos screen.
thanx for the help man.

Ok im sill out of luck seeing as how i use xbmc as my main dash and it dose not have a quick start in it, this dose me no good unless i put AVA back to defult dash.
if someone can find a quick start of sorts for XBMC it wold be a big help.
Well dartht33bagger it looks like you might have been closer to a fix for my prob then i was man.
Whats up XBMC are you going to let AVA get one up on you with the feture settings?

I dont use XBMC but if it has a spot for apps, put other dashs in the apps folder and you can boot in to them by going to the apps section, and clicking on the dash you want. That may be easier than using a dash switcher. _________________

I was just in the middle of that, good call.
It wold still be nice to set it up with a quick start so that if anything went wrong with my main dash that might stop me from booting to it i wold be able to launch say AVA and work with its file manager to fix what ever went wrong , you know what i mean?
