Oh well, I give up for real this time. I managed to get the screw turned by using a straight pick, still no good. When is the AID disc supposed to boot? Since it's burned as a bootable disc shouldn't it take over before the Xecuter BIOS? I ask because I'm wondering will the AID disc be able to get past the Xecuter's Error 6 screen?

If I didn't mention before, the unit can't boot with the chip off either. I'm assuming this is normal as the Xecuter BIOS will override the MS BIOS. When I try to start the unit with the chip off the unit starts up for maybe 1/2 second and the reboots. It does this a few times and then finally starts. But I don't et any graphics on the screen whtsoever. No Xbox blob screen, nothing.

So I guess it's safe to say the thing is a paperweight. The only thing I can think of is to get another DVD drive and try it. But with the problems I'm having I don't know if even that will help. I really wish I could save all the stuff on the drive.

You guys have been a lot of help and I thank you. I won't give up if any of you can think of anything we haven't tried. That or the easiest way to get the unit up and running again.

And Greven, or anyone else, if you ever need any PC help let me know. My AIM is redneck1210

Weird, the media guide on this site had the Samsung as reading almost everything listed. So a Phillips then?
