Use that. You'll also need some kind of audio converter to be able to send the files. They need to be in WMA 128KB/s format, or else the xbox won't read them. YOU CANNOT JUST DUMP MP3s TO A MUSIC FOLDER.
I have Microsoft Plus! XP digital media edition (practically makes XP a Media Center). All I have to do is right click and select convert. It's like 30 bucks (retail, you can get it cheaper off e-bay or somethin) and well worth it because it comes with more options than just Audio conversion... did I mention you just right click the files... or folders .
After it's all converted, BAM you create a new soundtrack (via right clicking the left sidebar in Xbox ST editor, create new Soundtrack) then, right click on the right pane, and click "add files" then click upload. You're done. It takes about 3 seconds an album (12-17 songs). No, seriously, 3 seconds. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

doesnt matter... He wanted in game music, he can't get it through XBMC, even if he puts the MP3's or wma's manually into the folder. They all have specially coded names and formats which STEditor understands. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

Ok, if you're using .wav... You need to get with the times lol.
Let's say you have 50 MP3's on your computer (or MP3's that you've gotten from XBMC by ripping the disc, yet they end up on your computer... Follow me?). Now, you want these in the CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS, that the MSDash can read, and therefore be used in games that support Custom Soundtracks.
Let's say those MP3's are 192K files, usually averaging around 4 megs. Very nice, and good quality. But you want these while you're running people over in GTA. You take these MP3's from your computer, convert them to WMA (MUST BE WMA!!!!) format, either 128 or 192, not too high quality, or you'll watch your HDD space drop like a rock.
Now you have MP3's and WMA's... You can trash the MP3's if you want, WMA's are smaller, and everyone likes them now... weird. Or just store them away. Either way, now you're working with WMA's.
So now, you have "Joe Budden - Bump it Up.mp3" and Joe Budden - Bump It Up.wma" You'll be working with the WMA now. Open up Xbox Soundtrack editor, and connect to your Xbox (you'll have to put in IP and login, no biggie). It will connect and show you the soundtracks that are already there. Remember how long it takes to rip a CD using the DVD drive in your box?
Now, right click on "Xbox Soundtrack" in the left window of ST editor. Click "New Soundtrack" and type in the name you want to be viewed in MS dash or a game. Once that's done, click on the new soundtrack title, then right click in the right window. Click "Add Track"
You'll be greeted by the familiar Windows Open window. Navigate to where your "Joe Budden - Bump it Up.wma" is stored, click it (or hold down CTRL click and select more than one file) then click "Open". You'll now see the wma file names in the right window and they should start uploading automatically.
Within about 5-10 seconds (less than one for a single file) your album will be uploaded. Now you can close XBOX Soundtrack Editor and enjoy your favorite songs in your compatible games.
Did that clear it up for ya, gus? If you need me to upload pictures, I'll do so... Then I'll submit that sucker to the tuts section, lol. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

so i thought the file type was wav not wma.. but ok sounds good but kinda complicated....
i dont really care about what size music is as long as it sounds good ... but the reason i do have intrest in this app cuz it takes forever on ms dash to rip cd.......
if my music is already id tags can it show that on xbox????
There ya go, how to use Xbox Soundtrack Editor... by: ME!
Tomorrow I'll start working on an audio conversion guide, I just gotta find a user friendly freeware program that anyone can use and get for free. I know everyone won't wanna pay for PLUS! XP. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
