hey maby you guys could help me with this. i softmodded a 1.1 and installed a 300g with sid 3.0 and aid 2.11 final. i have no problems viewing dvd's and playing games...the wierd part is on the opening screen on the dashboard i cant play the games directly from the dashboard...i have to go into complex tools or xbox media player to play games...at first i thought it was because i was loading everything on f and g drives and it just didnt recognize it...but then i chipped out a 1.6 box and it lists all the games from the dashboard just fine (oh and for some reason gta san adrease doesnt want to play on the chipped box...but it will on the soft mod...ahahah wierd stuff)

any ideas guys? because this has me stumped.

I'm sorry, it's been a real long weekend already (today felt like a week) so I am confused as to which box still isn't acting right. Would you mind clarifying for me?

haha sorry, sometimes i get sidetracked on different tangents....

ok, so my softmodded 1.1 box 250gb (softmodded with sid 3.0 and aid.2.11 final) wont show my backup games on the opening dashboard screen. in order to see my games and launch them i have to go to xboxmedia player or dvd2copy...or complextools... im just wondering how i can make it show up in that intro screen without having to go to another application to see my games. (i think im using evok ver 3935..but im not sure...)

anyone come across this problem before?

Thanks for the bump... Embarassed guess that day never did end. OK, so it's the Evox dash that isn't showing the games. I suspect that the dash isn't pointing to the proper location in order to find the games and yet DVD2Xbox should have alerted the dash that they exist and where.
Let me do some fast digging on the forums, I know I've seen this before and it's resolution.
It should be correctable through the Evox.ini file.
I'm curious as to what drive you put your games to.
I'm still looking for more, but that comes off the top of my head.
Here we go:
The AutoAddItem function automaticly searches immediate subdirectories for a default.xbe file, and adds it to the menu. For most people this is a very good thing. Here's an example of the use of AutoAddItem.

Section "Root"
Section "My Games"
AutoAddItem "f:\games"
Section "My Applications"
AutoAddItem "f:\apps"

You can also manually add these items. Use the Item tag to add them. Heres an example:

Section "Root"
Section "My Games"
Item "NHL Hitz 2003","f:\games\nhl2k3\default.xbe"
Section "My Applications"
Item "Boxplorer","f:\boxplorer\default.xbe"

first off thanks for the quick response! to answer your questions in this box i have a 250 gig. I put the games in both the g and f drive. i think im going to try and reinstall evok 3935 and see if it adds them automatically as it did with my chipped box because messing with my .ini kinda makes me a wee bit nervouse hahah.
