my friend has a 1.6 xbox and X3. Im flashing 3294 v16plus off of http. The yellow bar went all the way across then the green went 25% across. Its been 5 minutes and its still sitting at 25% green and the power button is blinking green and amber
update- just great.. i turned it off after 20 mins..and now when i boot it up there is no screen and the power led is green then after a little bit goes to amber.
i used switch number 4 only and i learned thats incorrect after i did it. i've tried installing on other numbers but it didn't work...luckily he has another bios chip and we just installed that but haven't tried to install the bios on it yet. It boots up with switch 4 and 1; 4 and 2; 4, 3, and 1; 4, 2, and 1; only 2; only 3; only 4;. We just aren't sure which switches should be on when installing the bios. Could you please tell us which switches we need on. The directions on the http page say turn on 1 and 2...but when we press 1 and 2 in and try to boot up..it doesn't.

ok.....I am F*cking confused...its alright though
lol
ok, refer to switches.....on on off off off (1 2 3 4 5)...its easier.
If you are booting the flashbios 3.03 for 1.6b (note this is the only flashbios on the chip that works with a 1.6b, so if yo uhave it, make sure not to flash over it.)
Ok, So if you have an x3, you want to put the bios, which is 1mb, to the first 1mb bank.
on on off off off.
Then if you have to, the second 1mb bios bank is off on off off off....just don't flash over it if you have a 1.6b.
ONLY IF YOU HAVE A 1.6B: Once you get a working bios up and going, you will want to update the backup rom which is 3.01 to 3.03 if yo uhave a 1.6b.
If you flash over flashbios, you will need an earlier xbox version. to get going again., _________________ XBOX v1.6

alright i think i understand you. He definitely has 1.6b because he has flashbios 3.03. So if on off off off (there are only 4 switch's on his clear case and http site only shows 4 switches in the directions) doesn't boot up...then should we boot up with off on off off since it works and then procede to install the bios

if its an x3, its five switches, 1-4 banks and a flash protect. No, this doesn't cover ther pro switch, I am talking about the regular bios switches included with every X3...the translation of on on off off off is (1 2 3 4 FP)
Do NOT flash over 2nd bios bank, including 0ff on off off off. stay away from that and the 3 4 swtiches (which usually translate to the 2nd bios bank) for flashing. You can boot just make sure you change.
I am back by the computer, so I will try to keep an eye for the updated post _________________ XBOX v1.6

so i have to boot up with off on off off off then switch it to on off off off off. Since i can't use number 2, 3, or 4 and 5 is flash protect is disabled.

Flash is disabled. Make sure it is on the chip also!
Sorry, Don't like double posting, but I bet you are watching this reply quickly. So i wanted to make sure you saw it _________________ XBOX v1.6

1 and 2 (on on off off off) does not boot up and we get a blank screen. Just about every other combination works. look above at my earler post to see what works. I could however boot with 2 (off on off off off) only then once the blue bios screen comes up switch on 1 (on on off off off) but im not quite sure that would actually work..
ok man, sorry about the confusion but i completely understand now. Im pretty sure flash is disabled... the switch is to the left on the main chip and the actual switch is also off.

Your method is correct, I just want to keep this short and sweet, the x3 can get involved. and long replies can only confuse one more. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Ok, you should be seeing a red light on the Chip itself, saying its ready to flash. green means flash protection is enabled _________________ XBOX v1.6
