Yea, boot with a quick flick.
Now you are in the X3CL menu. One of the first things I would recommend is backup your eeprom to the chip and then make a back up of info thru the settngs menu and transfer that.
You can now use the FTP protocol. It can be static or DHCP, X3/X3 is the user/pass.
You can also flash via FTP now also. Lots of features. Teamxecuter.com has a list of them all in their Forums FAQ.
I would recommend **ONCE YOU GET COMFORTABLE**** enough with the chip.. Replace the backup bios (currently Flashbios 3.01) with Flashbios 3.03, incase something should ever happen.
Remember touch and go, don't format a HDD accidentally or somethng.
Its a really great bios, you will like it. _________________ XBOX v1.6

it works!! thank you so much. My friend is also wondering if he will be banned from xbox live if he tries to get on it. If so is there anyway around this?

Don't sign on to xlive. There is a feature that will block XLIVE access (except for the download new content button apparently) and will not allow access while the chip is enabled. For now, I would unlock the HDD, so that if someone boots the retail bios, they won't be able to get passed the Service Screen.
Also, I wanted to mention, if and when you disable launching to the X3cl menu (instead of just booting to your dashboard.) To regain that, during boot press and hold the white button.
I would recommend disabling the flubber animation, it takes an extra 5 secs everytime.
Check the change log for the button combinations that have been added since 1959 (which had the x3 erase program)
They enabled an eeprom (not the xbox eeprom, but the x3 itself personal settings eeprom) reset, including a password, sometimes that doesn't work. That is to hold A+B+X+Y on boot, and that will reset the eeprom to default.
Also in case you accidentally change your video region, Depending on what you switched it to.:
On Boot, for NTSC: hold Left Trigger + X
PAL: Hold Left Trigger + Y
Don't try it if you don't ahve the settings, it just avoids a catastrophe when the screen starts acting up. Meanign a fist fight with your buddy because he broke the TV. _________________ XBOX v1.6

he wants to play movies off of his hard drive so we got the program dvdx2 from team X. Its an iso file and we would like to know how to install it and get it running. We would also like to know where to put video files on the hard drive. we have searched for instructions but couldn't find any and you are our last resort. If you could please tell us how to do it with dvdx2 or with another progam that you recommend it will be greatly appreciated.

Dvdx2 is just watches it from the dvd.
Dvd2xbox, is a disc copying program, don't use this b/c it will use 5 gbs to create the .vob files. What you need to to do if you want to store them to hard drive, is rip the dvd and encode it to divx.....finally watching it in XBMC.
For the rip -> encode, there was a tutorial submitted by djb to give you an idea. _________________ XBOX v1.6
