No problem bud, but we are still going to need some info. Firstly, how are you connected to the internet? Do you have broadband? If so, do you connect directly to the modem or do you have a router that you are connecting to, either through a cable or wireless?

Here's some quick info to get your feet a little wet.

On your PC I recommend a program called FlashFXP. You can also use SmartFTP, but the first program is what I use and recommend.

What this program does is allow you to connect your PC and Xbox together. Look at your Xbox as someone who speaks english and your PC as someone who speaks spanish. For them to communicate together you need a translator. Well, that's the FTP program (flashfxp, cuteftp, or smartftp to name a few apps). FTP by the way stands for File Transfer Protocol, just in case you were perplexed just a tad.

The next thing you are going to need is a cable to connect Xbox and PC, or Xbox and router together. The type of cable depends on how you are connecting.

If you are connecting the Xbox directly to the PC you will need what is called a Crossover Cable. If you are connecting Xbox to a router, then you need a standard networking cable. Cat5 or Cat6 is fine. You will notice no difference if you hold these cables side by side. They look identical. Their difference is only how they are wired at the ends.

With that said, here are some tutorials on this site that may give you even more information.

That should be enough to get you moving in the right direction. I have used both EvolutionX and Avalaunch as dashboards/apps to connect/ftp with. So, at least your Xbox has the proper apps. Next, you have to get the proper connection/hookups and the proper PC app. Then, get your settings all squared away.

Once you are connnected transferring is a snap. Just navigate to the partition/folder where your music is stored on your PC...for instance C:/MyDocuments/My Music/Mp3s, then navigate to your folder on your Xbox where you wish to save. Hit the transfer button and viola!!! You have FTP'd.

Good luck and fire away any questions that you may have.

Yeah, I didn't use the search engine. I just used the drop down menu and selected "networking" and got a list of all the networking tuts. Then, I just went through a few that I thought would be useful and had enough info to get you started.

Once you get your settings and connections done correctly, the rest is very elementary. We'll have you FTP'ing in no time Smile

I use FlashFXP as my main ftp. But anothe good one is CoreFTP, I can get into the xbox without a dash with this one. It work's at the zenium OS screen.

That's good info to know. I have always had a hard time using programs at the Xeniums OS screen. I could connect, but never could I see my Xbox partitions. The apps list my PC partitions, but never the Xbox's.

I will be sure to look into that app some day.
