Well ... i have a Xbox softmodded with evox dashboard. All worked fine until i decided that i would prefer XBMC to load at the boot rather than the "normal" dasnboard. So in an insanity move, not knowing what the hell i was doing, i decided to ftp my xbox and rename the default XBE with another file
RESULT : I cannot enter the dashboard. I already tried to boot a slayers dvd and various dvdīs and no result. when i boot the xbox with the dvd already in the dvd player i get the 13 error. When i boot the xbox up, and insert a dvd during the boot sequence i get the 14 error. I cannot ftp my xbox to change back the name of the file. I also donīt have the key of the hdd so i cant unlock it . It there a way to connect the hdd without unlocking it to the pc and rename the XBE file that i renamed ? How the hell do i fix you this screw up ?

Why don't you just coldboot (eject the drive, pop in the game, close the drive, turn off the system, turn it back on, let the game load) and resoftmod??? Simple and quick, and if you want to use XBMC as your main dash use AID to install it to the loaction of your choice (just choose "Install dashboards (softmod)") after you get your box resoftmodded... It's much quicker and easier than a hotswap.

yep.
all my saves are on the hdd
the problem is that i donīt have any original dvd from xbox

Do you have a place where you can rent games?, that would be the best place to get the game you need to remod it. Make sure its not a platinum hits version. _________________

im haveing the same problem sorta .. i get the error 13 i deleted some stuff in the Q drive thinking it was a copy of another drive and turned my xbox off and now shows e13 on startup it still loads and plays games is there something i can do to just put my msdash back on with a disk without loosing anything ?

What do you by eject the drive do you mean the disk tray?
