I am trying to map the F-drive of my XBOX in Windows XP as an Network-drive.

This way I can use my XBOX as storagte for music/movies and easily access it everywehere inside my network.

Please advise. I have read all kinds of tutorials about FTP and mounting inside "My Network Locations", but that is not what I am looking for.

can Anybody help me?

To clarify, are you trying to be able to access you xbox's F: from your windows XP through a drive letter like "N:\apps\xbmc" using FTP?

If you are, you need a seperate application like webdrive. Windows cannot map an FTP adress as a lettered drive

Yes, that is exactly what I want to do. I want to make my XBOX, with 300GB, my MultiMediaServer. Therefor it should be accesable thropugh a drive letter in stead of through ftp.

What is webdrive? Do you have a homepage with information for me?

http://www.webdrive.com/

There is also a program called netdrive, but I have not used either of them so I can't say for sure: http://www.acs.uwosh.edu/novell/netdrive.htm

just type this in your browser, obviously changing the IP address to match your xbox one.

ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.1.101/

I KNow, but that is not what I am looking for. In that "ftp-interface" it is not possible to play MP3 files from the XBOX on my PC (for example).

So I want the XBOX to be a fileserver in my network!

Anybody got some good ideas?
