ok so u had a modchip in the box then you took it out then softmodded it?

if so put the chip back in and see if it boots, you should be able to unlock the drive using the modchip.

How did you lock the HDD? (HDM, or did you do it in the Xbox?)

Did you use option 3 and 'lockhd -a'?
If you did the masterpassword should be XBOXSCENE.

If you used option 4 and didn't save the logfile you may be screwed.(unless you know the password)

If you made a FreeDOS utility disk, I would check the logfiles to see what the first password listed is.

If you don't know the password you may be able to have it replaced if it is still under warranty(just don't mention that you are the one that fucked it up! Wink ). I know it's a pain in the ass, but it beats buying a new HDD.

You can use option #4 and then use one of the unlock tools there.(In FreeDOS mode.)

When it boots into FreeDOS, you can type 'atapwd', and it will start the ATA password program. You can then select your HDD and choose to unlock it with a master password.
