yeah recreating the iso wont hurt... if you get error 06 then your putting wrong eeprom...
on xboxhdm1.9 C folder put a fresh retail ms dash on EEPROM folder put your eeprom.bin its 256k just the eeprom.bin and if you wanna put your stuff on E then do so ... make iso win and pop it again
xboxhd enter 1( build new hd from scratch say yes or y to make partions. once done press reboot or poweroff and re run it but this time try 3( boot linux with locking and unlocking utilities try lockhd -a
NOTE: if i put those words close to each other then its because it has to be like that... its case sensitive on the linux _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Try the 'unlockhd' command on the FreeDOS disk, then use 'atapwd' to check the drive status, if it shows as unlocked but not disabled, then you can use 'hddisab' to completely disable the locking features.(until you lock it again.) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

heres a question if i use option1 and then make a floppy i believe its option8 and then reboot to option3 and use unlockhd -f will it goto a floppy to read the disk and unlock the drive? is that what the "make a dos floppy with the locking/unlocing utility" is for?

no, that will put the unlocking tools in option #4 onto a Floppy that you can boot from and save to. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Yeah, here have a look.
The INPUT.TXT file is the one that is used to lock or unlock the HDD, the hdpass.txt is the password that was used to lock the hdd previously.
(These files are for my V1.6a Xbox with the stock HDD, therefore they will do you no good, except to see what they look like.)

If it's a 160GB HDD I would at least check the warranty! If it's still under warranty, most of the HDD Mfg's will replace it just to keep their customers happy! And at $10, I'd take a chance that they might say no.
I'm glad that you got the box working though. Hope you have fun with it! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

you need to lock your HDD if you want to run M$Dash, and I believe that there are a few games that require it too. BUT, if you do end up needing to lock it, boot your AID3.0 disk and use Config Magic to lock it. This will take the guesswork out of locking your hdd. and it puts a master password of 'TEAMASSEMBLY' on there. and you can always unlock it there too.
BTW: If you need to lock or unlock a HDD that has ALREADY been soft-modded with SID 4 or 4.5 you need to disable the 'Virtual C drive' Before Doing any of these. Along with the virtual C comes a virtual EEPROM! so, if you do another backup after you softmod with SID 4 you will have the wrong EEPROM. Just something you should be aware of. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
