Hi all.
First of all thanks for such a great portal !!
Well, I've been trying to softmod my brand new xbox but I have been unable to do it.
The problem is the following:
I downloaded SID 4.5, copyed the savegames using my Ipod and used splinter cell to load SID. Then I backed up eeprom and ms and installed the softmod (I actually installed and unistalled using all the possibilities and always came to the same problem) When the installation ends it says that xbox must be turned of. I press OK and it stops... I gess everything is good up to this point.
When I reboot the xbox I take out Splinter Cell and then a message appears saying that there is no network connection... well I turn it off, turn it on again and then a screen appears where it says that softmodding is ok but I need a further step and I should press 'A' I do it and it seems as if it restores the backup on E. Afterwards ms dash appears and I cannot get any other dash. Ah... It is annoying that it keeps asking me once an again to set up the time !!!
I've been looking around the forums and found nothing alike anywhere. Can anyone please give me a hand or point me to the right place to look at ?
By the way. Mine is a 1.6 pal xbox K:5838 D:5960

Did you install a dual boot option? What happens when you boot with pressing the eject for open tray? _________________ XBOX V1.4

Yes, I installed both options of dual boot and single boot.
In dual boot (nndure) when I press the eject button it tells me that It has no network connection. When I press the power button It boots MS Dash.
With Dual boot (not ndure) I don't remember, but I think it was the same.

I would try and reinstall the softmod. I don't know why it said something about internet connection, make sure nothing is plugged in the ethernet port. _________________ XBOX V1.4

I had this on a couple of Xboxs that I've done using SID4.5 - Have you actually tried setting it to the correct time & date? Try that, then screw around in the xbox dash for a while, look at your game saves, change your video settings, anything just to kill a few minutes. Then power off your box, power on again and the hacked dash should load like magic. Dual Boot r0x0rs!

the dual boo=retail saying no connections is fine...
now tell me this when it asked you for a time was the led circle ring red or green? do what it ask put correct time and do igr in game reset ...
L R BACK START and it should load the dash u choosen... but answer my ? was it red or green? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

It was red and keeps red after I enter a new date.
By the way, where must I press L R BK and Start ? I tried it in a couple of places and didn't work.

u dont press them u hold each button so it re sets and goes to the dash u choose in the first place... so hold LEFT RIGHT BLACK START and it should load up ur evox or unleash x... btw its normal for RED leds but u can stil change it...
oh and dont worry u can idetify it when an error happens ... so for say ur a/v is unpluged it will flash in a pathern... meaing doesnt stop... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

You press your left trigger and right trigger and start and back button at the same time to do a ingame reset is what gus meant. _________________
