either way theres a problem with uninstalling the mod so im assuming he wants to play XBL and you can still use network gaming with the mod anyways unless his LAN port is burnt out. _________________

Well, if he's already tried to connect to live with a modded box, and the sucker connected while he wasn't using sid 4 or 4.5, this whole topic became pointless after the first response. He's banned. Easy enough. So now, even if he does get his box restored and/or dual modded, he's not going to get on live without an EEPROM fix.
to find out if you're banned, d00d, pop in AID 3.0. Once it boots, click on "Uninstall Softmod". That should pull it all out and wipe your C drive. If you get the error again, go to the main menu and choose "Install MSDash 5960". This will restore the box back to normal.
If you have the virtual C drive (SID 4, or 4.5) I belive there is an option in AID to "Unmount Virtual C drive". Do this before the above instructions, or you'll just get bitched at by the installer.
These steps will revert your box back to stock. But, if I read your initial post correctly, you're screwed, anyway. You've already tried to hop on live with a modded box. Unprotected at that, seeing as how it tried to update. Or perhaps.... *scrolls back and reads again* ah, you were running SID 4. Hopefully, you'll be able to get on live once you fix it. well you guys are great thanks for so many replies and taking time to help me, i will try these suggestions and see what happens, and no ididnt connect to live witha modded xbox lol it jus says its not connected or usmit and there is nothing wrong with my hub ports ill give it a go and see what happens if not i can pick up another xbox for about £20 lol
also i have just got that aid3 know can i write that to cd and pop it into my xbox, and if i do out it on cd do i ust put al the rar files on it or what

i hva enow restores my backups and i think unistalled the mod but now i cant play anyhting when i start the xbox with the tray open it jus says xbox live is updating please wait, and then it says xbox live is not respunding try again later and keeps doing that,
what do i need to do to
right ok scarp that i put in far cry and then went to sign into live it said it cant connect start trouble shoote, then when i get onot that it says my ip is not confirmed what should it be it says its
Ip = 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask= 255.255.255.0
Gateway=192.168.0.100
kk scrap that one 2 lol, ok ive got my ip sorted but now it says my hardware or software may have been modified, can someone please tell me how to change the ''eeprom it is i belive'' if i have to change the eeprom will i have to install the softmod again lol? that would b very ironic!
will it juts be a case of changing that to certin number?

Wait, wait wait... You've got an xecuter??? Why are you trying to softmod?? Just install a hacked dash to E, leave C as a standard C drive. Now, when you turn on the chip, you'll boot to the E drive dash (you have to configure your BIOS to do so with this: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/download-file-1260.html)
And when the chip is off, you'll boot Retail. Good to go as the Taco Bell douche says...

dont worry angelos that is a flaw i saw too when i never put info on the moded option on profile....
