I want to softmod a friends xbox, he barely knows anything about them. is there any risk he manages to break it by accident if I sofmod it with SID4.5 and only use one boot(evox)?

If he does manage to break it just start a thread on what is wrong and their should be some help ( they helped me alot ) and I learned when modding a friends xbox explain to them the importance of creating an ms backup... and a little about the modding process and they should be ok _________________ Newb is such a harsh term... I prefer to be called one who doesnt know as much so asks to many questions to find out his answer.

No real risk with SID 4.5. It's great because of the Virtual EEProm and such. But like Gaiden said, don't worry about it if he does break it. You can just rush back here, there's usually someone moderating the forums at any time of the day. Response times here have gone down dramatically in the past year.
As far as the backups and such, they're NEEDED for SID 4.5. If they're not present, the softmod won't go. So don't worry about that, lol. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

AngelosDracul, you say that I don't need to worry bcs eeprom virtual is there. but was it not removed bcs Pal xbox with splintercell didn't work?
thats the combination I'm using so I suspect there won't be any virtual eeprom. does virtual eeprom just protect it from locking or is there other stuff also?
I mean just as long as I disabel all unlocking abilities it won't be a problem right?
