Ok gere is the deal, there is no game or DVD in my Xbox, but it is making the humming noise when trying to read a DVD or game. Earlier today I went to back up Ninja Gaiden. That went fine I even played a good hour of it from the HDD. Then I tried to back up my copy of Thief : Deadly Shadows, but when it went to start copying the game loaded instead. And now everytime I turn on the Xbox the DVD starts humming as if it were trying to load a game or DVD but there is nothing in the drive at all. I used PxHDDloader (I believe thats hows it is spelt) to copy these games. Can this problem be fixed by simply opening the Xbox and then disconnecting the DVD player and then recconect? Thanks for any help. ttyl. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

expland please
With THEIF3 you could have just pressed the wrong button. i think A is to play and B is the copy.
Use complex tools, pack better UI - just make sure you get the patch in our downloads somewhere. _________________ Xbox v1.2

What I mean is, you know how the Xbox sorta hums when a game or DVD is loading? Yeah, well thats what it does....but the thing is there is no game or DVD. And now when I go to PhxHDDloader it says reading disc, when in fact there is no disc in the drive. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

there could something making the drive think there is something in it. Like when you insert a disc the drive will check if there is something in it.
--- two things
------Does this just happen in pxhddloader
-if so its probably just the prog get another version or another program

Well what happened is Im just dumb lol. It was the 250gig HDD just humming lol. But PxHDD Loader still doesnt work niether does DVD2XBOX or Complex Tools. But RealMccloy is going to help me set it straight. Right now Im getting ready to reinstall the Xbox-HQ auto-installer. He said it just overwrites everything and well leave the roms and other extras as they were, is this true? Thanks. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

hey mate,
yes its true that it doesnt overwrite your roms but im sure RealMccloy would have used the autoinstaller to setup your xbox anyway.. I dont know for a fact but im just guessing..

Hey Slamscaper, I am back...man, looks like I picked a terrible time to go on vacation!!
I used the autoinstaller to install your apps and I am puzzled why they worked for you several times and then stopped.
What's even more puzzling is that you have reinstalled the apps via the autoinstaller and they still don't work.
I have heard some people having issues with backing up Thief regardless of the app that they use. Some have needed to patch the game. Personally, I used PxHDD loader and had no issues.
Have you tried other games to see if you can get it to backup it? Also, can you launch games via PxHDD loader or is the app totally inop?
I'll be giving you a phone call as soon as I get caught up and settled. Have only been in the house for about an hour or so. Haven't even unpacked yet.
Talk to you soon man! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
