Ok, im not that much of a noob, but i have a problem. Ive had waffle tools softmod intaller thing, and wanted to try something different, so i went with the SID 4. All was goin well untill i tried to sign into live from the Halo2 (duel booted to MS dash). It said cannot connect to live start trouble shooter. It instantly took me to a "updating". Then something odd happened. It said the update failed b/c my disk is dirty, and then went to black screen. So i thought i had to reboot. So i pressed the eject button (retail dash) and i got error 21, but i can still power on by the power button and go to UnleashX. I click on MS dash in Unleash dash, and it said C:\msdas.xbe is missing, so i FTP'd it over real quick, got the dash to load from unleash, but not from eject button. My friend told me to try to put it in E:\BACKUP\unmodded so i did and still nothing. I know this has been posted many times, and sorry for being a noob, but even if i cant get help, im buying a new box tomarrow. Thanks anyways. i appreciate ANY help. Thanks for your time. -dArKsKaTa

i know why, and i've said it, you must have an xbox live account before you install softmod, when you don't have xbox live gamertag, it will try to make 1 for you, and it will lead to trying to update your dashboard, failing, and saying, the message you got, and booting to error 21 as well.
what you have to do is, uninstall SID 4 from SID 4 Menu, leave in retail, go make your gamertag account, and after your good to go on xbox live, then you install SID 4's ndure, that way you don't have any problems.
you must have your account made, so you only signin from game. _________________ Xbox v1.1

I had 2 accounts on xbox already but i took my unbanned account off and left my banned one on, and tried to load my banned account. So all i have to do is uninstall, and i will be back to retail?

Thank a ton man, ill post tomarrow to see if it works. Im goin to buy a new box just in case it dont, and if it does, ill take it back...if it dont work, what do you think Best Buy will say if I send back a 1.1 halo edition when i bought a 1.6 regular? lol

Ok, sorry to double post but when i tried to uninstall sid from its menu, it said BATCH failuer E:\backup\MS NOT VALID rename. What does this mean? If it needs the MS dash in there i got it on my desktop. Anyone know why?
