Hello all,...hope you are all ok!!
I recently decided to upgrade my HDD to a Seagate 120GB, but i cannot get any dashboards to boot from it, except the MS Dash.
I have the AID which i accuired from here, but i dont know what im doing wrong? If anything??
Do i install the MS Dash first? This is what i did on a smaller test HDD which was only 10GB?? Where do i install the Dashboards to?? And also, do i have to install BIOS specific dash's??
Saying that, for this new HDD i burned a new copy of AID because my other CD was badly scratched after my little cousin found it, but if the MS Dash works, they should all work, right??
Im gettin so annoyed with it its unreal!!
I thinki i have,
v1.4 Xecuter 2.3b Lite Crystal Xbox
Phillips VAD6035/21 DVD Drive
Seagate 120GB HDD
Dont know what BIOS i have as when i use the old HDD or the AID, it just says bios version unknown!!
Many Thanks!!

Depending on the bios, it's most likely booting from C.
Install your dash to that drive, not e or f and see if it works. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

That's really odd. I wish we knew what bios you had. Seems to me the download area has some kind of software that will identify the bios on the Xbox. If you are trying to install Avalaunch, try XBMC on the C drive instead. I noticed that I was having issues installing Avalaunch with the most recent version of AID but XBMC installed with no issues as did Evox.
Keep me posted!
After thought: Since you are booting to M$ dash only, your HDD is locked. Try unlocking then installing and see if that makes a diff. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Hmmm... did you format the drives? I didn't realize that it was that new but I am confused as to how it's booting to the M$ dash if nothing is on it?
If nothing is on the drive at all, format it then install your dashes. HDD should not be locked at that time but I don't think the M$ dash can boot unless it's locked. I don't have the M$ dash on mine, so I don't remember. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

M$ dash goes in C and the other dash ( evox, Avalaunch) goes in E. The HDD must be locked for the M$ dash to work _________________

Ya know enigma516... I don't remember typing that.
Well hell I'm confused. First the M$ is the only thing launching then nothing is on the HDD. Where are we exactly in this process? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I found this old post where Hobbs had the same problem. Something about holding the power button to launch Evox. Here is the post, I hope it helps.
sorry ive not replied but i have been away for the weekend!
anyway,...ive solved the problem, but now highlighted 2 others!!
ok,...a while ago relocated the switchbank to inside my console, so i never change the bios bank switch, therefore didnt discover this problem until earlier today! i switched to bank 2 and everything worked perfectly, so what have i done to bank 1 and do you recommend me trying to fix it? bank 1 still booted games though, because it booted the AID,...so i dont know whats happened!!
Also,...i will post this elsewhere as it an FTP problem,...but after i set my xbox up, i changed the ip address correctly but it will not let me ftp into the xbox,...abox Saves Manager gets half way, as does FlashFXP so im unsure as to what to do here aswell!!
Sorry guys, i know im being a pain!!
