Sounds like it's buggered up. Hopefully you have a backup of your eeprom, then you could use xboxhdm to prepare a new drive. If not you'll need a modchip. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

i have the exact same problem i bought an xecuter 2.6 CE solderless boots up fine off that but i dunno what to do
what do you do once you have the mod chip and have no back-ups of any sort?
bcoz u said in ur last post u either use xboxhdm which may i say doesnt work accross error 7 bcoz i tired and simply doesnt detect the hard drive on driver boot ups. I think once u get error 7 its either an ide probl;em or its buggered ive got 2 on order but i wanna know how tog et eeperom back-up off my xbox without a hard drive ? _________________ V1.3 / V1.4 xbox Retail hard drive xecuter 2.6 CE Thomson Dvd drive

The Ice has an option to save the eeprom, I'm not sure about the xecuter. If your hdd has some life left in it try to copy the gamesaves using AID....either by the file manager or the gamesave manager. However, if the hdd is beyond recognition then there's no hope. At least with a modchip you don't need a locked hdd. Once you have the chip, you will need to install a bios onto it. The Ice guide walk you through the set-up. I'm sure there is a walkthough for the xecuter. Once you install the bios you can use AID to fix your hdd.

OK, I'm assuming you have the chip installed and working properly. In the AID package there is a bios folder. Most people use the EvoX M8 bios. There is a version for v1.0-1.5 boxes and one for v1.6 boxes. Burn that to a cd-rw or ftp it over the the box. When you boot, the first thing you should see is the xenium os. Select the "Launch menu" then "Add Item". In the "Add Item" menu select "TSOP". That will allow you to boot the retail dash. Then select "Add Item" again, this time selecting Flash. Then you'll see a directory tree where it will allow you to find the bios file that you burned or ftp'd. Find you file and it will flash it to the memory bank on the chip. Once that is done you should be able to boot AID and start installing the dash and what ever apps you need. This is also spelled out in the ice guide in the "Setting up original bios" section.

Copy Partition is used when you have a new hdd "piggy backed" with a old or retail hdd to copy the files over. In you case since the old hdd is fried, you don't need it.
I'm not sure about the Repair option. I haven't used either. Maybe Shark2th or one of the other Xenium owners can jump in. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS
