Hello and welcome,

AID is Auto Installer Deluxe, this is a disk based program that can install lots of diffrent stuff to a moddified xbox.

SID is Software Installer Deluxe, this is used on un modded xbox`s to make them PROPER xbox`s or modded, using this mod instead of a chip is known as softmodding.

both of these programs were written by Xbox-HQ`s DJB.

The xbox will need to be moddified to run AID either with a chip or with SID,

A modified xbox is normally running a hacked bios, This means the original xbox security has been bypassed allowing hacked dashboards and stuff to run on it,

Yes back up your Data to a pc before running aid, more importantly, Read
every bit of documentation you can get your hands on regarding this, as many people have Left their xbox returning error codes and so on by simply not following the instrucions.

You can do this via ftp, it`s very easy to do if you know a little about networking. If you don`t know how, head over to the tutorial section of this website and have a little read up.

thx,
ok, i have a hacked bios on my modchip.
is it a good idea, if i do not change the retail hdd, and install a larger drive, and then start with aid, because i want a larger hdd and i do not need the original hdd. so it would be possible to undo all changes by formatting the new (larger) hdd, and i would not loose my original system??
thanks for your help

PS: does aid change anything anywhere else except on the hdd?

Sorted, all you need to do is download AID unpack the iso, burn the iso and then run it on your xbox with the new unformatted hdd in it.

job done.

First of all what kind of chip do you have? Some chips have a hdd upgrader built in.
