i sold an xbox on ebay ( customizable) and cant get the 80 gig to work. ive tried hd maker and the only thing i can think of is i ts the eeprom. i would try to put the eeprom in but i cant find it. its supposed to be in the backup folder but all i can find is mod and msdash. i get an error 5 every time i try to boot it so it might be thatits not locked. but as far as i know it dosent have to be fo the modd dash. please help ive been up all day and night its 7 int he morning now and im going to bed again please help me!!!
ps i cant use the old drive ether i. while i was working on it 2 contacts got crossed ZZZZAAAAPPP but luckaly it was localized
shit now its throwing me an error 13 with no disk in the dtive and a 5 with a disk

i wrote a tutorial on upgrading a hd in a softmodded xbox , look in tutorial section
a softmodded xbox NEEDS a locked hd (with the eeprom from the retail xbox)
and if your retail disk is fubar you can't boot the xbox anymore , so you can't get the eeprom .

Yea 05 is an unlocked HDD..
You need a chip now, you can get a cheap one a clevermod.com he took up home on these boards for supports. Its called the Sunday Chip _________________ XBOX v1.6
