I softmoded my xbox, and now I have avaluanch and the Xbox Media Center on there. I also have the "DVD 2 Xbox" program, which rips the Xbox games quite well.
My problem is that I need a program that will rip normal movie DVDs into an easy to use self packaging file. Basically if I wanted a program that would just rip the contents (video_ts, audio....) then I would do it on my computer and upload it via my network.
Does anyone know of a good DVD movie ripping program made specifically for the soft modded Xboxes? Does the XBMC have a program that does that? Is there a more updated version of XBMC?
(Part of the reason for the need for the program, is that I want my wife, who doesnt know mych about computers, to be able to access movies easily.)

You could however download a program called DVD2AVI for PC..
It will convert any dvd you put in to a XVID or DIVX video file with near same quality and only around 700mb of filesize.
At the worst. you can use DVD2XBOX to dump DVD movies to your xbox hdd and then run them from there using XBMC.
You have to use the MOUNT feature when trying to run a DVD from the XBOX HDD using XBox Media Centre..
That should help ya anyway, go have a browse.
DVD2AVI is free too. Just download and install some codecs for your computer like divx or xvid.
