My setup:
Softmoded XBox running XBMC
ZyXEL X-550 router
Vista Business PC
Netgear wg111t Wireless USB Network Adapter
(Xbox is connected to router via wire)
Problem: Network connection dropping when the XBox "talks" to the PC
When streaming video from the PC to the XBox, it will play for a while (5-10 min) then loose connection. The PC actually loses its connection to the router.
Same thing happens when FTP to XBox to transfer files. At some point, the PC will lose it router connection.
Most times, this results in the Network adapter no longer seeing my network, but still may show other (neighbor) networks available. In some cases, I am able to remove the wg111t and plug it in again to "fix" it.
Any suggestions what I can look for to fix this issue?
Thanks

Do you have a xp os computer around somewhere?
Try it with that if you do if not you could try a crossover cable which will allow you to plug the cable from the xbox straight to the pc...
I have had some bugs with vista, and it sounds the problem is located at your pc.
have you tried static ip instead DHCP?
difference between those 2 is that a DHCP ip is assigned automatically and static ip you make up manually.
If you are going to try static, DONT forget to put it back to automatic when your done otherwise your router might not recognize your ip
EDIT: also how is your computer connected to your router? wireless? if you have the option try cable.
Also this tuto might have some helpfull info for you:

wireless connections are sensitive to large data movements. Contact your routewr manufacturer and explain the problem. You may have to adjust the router MTU and the beacon interval, etc

That's exactly why i suggest using cables, if you really cant use cables then well you'll have to do what pezzar says.
I would go for the cables since it's less pesky getting it done plug it and done, ok maybe some adjustments to your ip settings

Thanks for the suggestions.
I read somewhere that there may be a problem with the USB adapter I am using. I only have USB 1 ports and its a USB 2 device... Any comments on that are appreciated.
I have a PCI wirless card that I have sued and it worked fine (Till the kids broke the antennea). I will just replace that and move the USB adapter back to the box with USB 2 support, where it also worked fine.
Thanks again
