Any one have problems with XBMC connecting to smb shares ?

Some times it has a problem finding my linux box. I normaly get the error Network group not found but i know it has something more to do with the linux side of things then the network side of things.
also .Mkv play back is horrid plays fine on my pc but on the xbox the sound is good but the video is really choppy ??

Linix box ? are you talking about a linksys router wit DDWRT?
And what format are you running your movies in?
Are you runnind wire from the xbox to the router or useing the wireless game router to your linksys?

Linux as in Fedora core 7 (red hat)
the movies are encoded in the .mkv format but they just seem to be choppy on my x-box vs playing them from a PC

You might want to try recodeing the movies to avi thats what im running and it plays fine for me.
