I was installing a 250gb with Chimp, and hooked up everything the way it should be. Well when I Clicked the IDE SCAN ( the first step of chimp ) , i got an error. So i turned off the xbox , turned it back on, and now it does this:
Turns on for 1 sec flashes green then turns off. turns back on flashes only orange, turns back off, turns back on flashing only orange, than stays off......Everything is plugged in the way it should be. I cant find anything on this. The only time i saw someone having the orange only problem, it was due to video cord not being plugged in, and the xbox didnt turn on and off. Any ideas?

It does this with just the stock HDD and DVD drive connected?

(Leaving out the new drive for the minute).

yes it does it even with the stock hdd plugged in. I pulled the harddrive out hoping to get an error code but still nothing. I unplugged the dvd left the harddrive in, still the same. unplugged both the dvd and hdd at the same time, and still same. Left it unplugged for a day, just in case it was a heat issue, but nothing,. I dont understand.....

Looks like you might have to do a hotswap then.

Sounds to me like a bios issue because if it were a hard drive problem then when he unhooked the dvd drive it would just error out.
