I saw a tut a while back on how to use Chimp if you have a 1.6 xbox. I havent been able to find it again! I know nothing about telnetting at all. Nothing. Can anyone help? I have Windows Vista. Can anyone point in the right direction? I need to know what telnet program to use(i need a free one). Also some help on to connect would be great. Do i use a crossover or regular Cat5? PLEASE HELP!~!

Um, im not sure about all that lol, ive been told it wont work on a 1.6 at all. But i may be wrong?
I saw in alot of places that it will work with 1.6 if you telnet into, because the video chip in the 1.6 isnt combatabile with CHIMP. But no one seems to include a tutorial on how to connect it!

Ive looked into the HDM a little bit, and i think i ran into issues with Vista. Also, I have a SATA hdd in my computer now. The only IDE cables i have availabl are for the Slave and Master cable thats for the DVD. If i need to boot from a cd for HDM, can i just plug the Xbox hdd into the Slave port of the IDE, and then leave my DVD-Rom hooked up to the MASTER port? Because i believe i need to unhook all of my other HDDs from my computer, and then boot from CD.
Sorry this is in so many different directions. I really like using chimp, because it allows me to be mobile and still put HDD's in . SO i still want to know how to TELNET the xbox using Windows Vista. Thanks!

How bad is it that i need help to use the help?? LoL. I dont know how to PM someone without seeing thier name in the forum. Any chance he has the tut posted online, or perhaps you can explain how to PM him. THanks man.

Just an update, Im still havent successfully telneted the v1.6
Have alot of people gotten this to work? Im using vista.....think it could be the problem maybe, because ive had alot of combatability issues with other programs used for modding. Any other tips or suggestions would be great. Thanks again.

What error do you get when connecting? Also, you say you're using Vista, are you using its new IPv6 address ranging? If so, switch it back to IPv4. Most compatibilty and connection problems are caused by the V6 - v4 compatibility problems.
Still using the iPv4, so no issue there. I will have to report back on the error code. I need to get my hands on another 1.6 to try it again.
