I tried searching in the tutorials and on the forums but i couldnt find anything. I was wondering if i was able to softmod a xbox with a already modded xbox?
the modded xbox is a v1.0 and is using a SmartXX chip. Then the other is either a v1.0 or v1.1. Can i mod the unmodded one without buying anything or soldering. since i niether have a soldering iron or a MS Memory Card.

i searched through google...and came to afterdawn.. which i know through my PSP modding days.
but is this what i need to follow/do to softmod my xbox?

all u need to do is get a copy of aid 3.1 and go to i think advanced selection and install softmod that would be the easiest way to do it _________________

You will have to hotswap the drive from the stock box to the chipped box, and from there you can install the softmod with AID _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

so take the hardrive in the unmodded one and put it in the chipped xbox? does it matter what harddrive i take out, since i have 3 in my modded xbox. and then after i do that i should be able to FTP into my modded xbox and put that AID 3.1 installed?

so to make this clear this is what i have to do...
take out the HDD from the unmodded
replace that HDD with one i have in my modded xbox
then FTP to the xbox
and put the AID 3.0 in the Mechassult game save [ the game i have ]
then put the HDD back into the unmodded xbox
then load the save and then follow what it says/does
is that how im supposed to do it?

you cannot run aid or any unsigned code unless the xbox is modded somehow which in this case its plain unmodded Anonymous_User do you have your mem card? its easier like this you get your self a ar kit ( its a software that installs on a pc to transfer saves to a mem card and it already comes with a usb to mem card device) d/l sid4 extract it transfer the needed 2 files ( linux and game save) then put mem card on unmodded xbox save files put ma disc and softmod

no i dont have a mem card. thats why i was wondering if i could mod a unchipped xbox with a chipped xbox.

Yes you can. But it is very difficult. My xbox was set up that way, so I know it can be done but I have never learned to do it that way myself. Spend the 12 bucks and buy the memory card. It will save you a lot of hassle.

yeah you can run ftp client such as flashfxp then transfer the 2 files needed then plug in the mem card to the modded xbox drag and drop files and then put from mem card to unmodded xbox .
or
just buy an ar kit ( action replay ) it already has the free disc that lets you drag and drop the software AND it already includes the usb to mem card adapter .
either way works fine i personaly think second choice would be best as ftp sometims struggles due to connection issues then on top of that you gotta find the direction where you dumped the files etc etc .... _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions
