Am I capable of helping any? One thing though, I dont have my Xbox at this time, so I have no files. Except a few torrents at the moment. I should have my Xbox back on Friday(all files are on it)....depends on the shipping. Would this be for the VIP's? or both? Let me know if I can help. Also...it would mostly be roms and torrents....Cause Im still in the dark on some of this stuff....so I prolly wouldnt be much of a help then. Well, let me know.

Basically what it means is apart from upping files to our site's FTP (which should be a breeze if you have Cable / DSL) you will be required to validate downlodas.
You would be given certain administrative tasks, where you be able to check submitted downloads before they are validated. Your job would be to simply check links to files etc. and make sure it's all fine, then approve the downloads.
Forahobby will give you more information I'm sure. But, so far I think you could be a good candidate.

We are also looking for someone to also add to our growing number of VIP downloads.
So, that would be a plus too. But, with all the other factors in mind I think you would be fine and I could help you with any questions you may have while getting your feet wet with the admin tasks.
It's pretty easy though. I could even give you a call and we could sit down in front of the PC together and go over each admin task and what it is for and how it works.

Yea....well I have a FTP account also. So what I would do is check out the downloads, like make sure they a are real and not any type of viruses and such? Once I get my files back in order I'll submit downloads as well.

I'll take u up on that offer, if forahobby says Im good for the job. And with what you have included with my Xbox, I'll be able to sumbit quite a few VIP downloads as well.

This is something totally different than the FTP account you currently have..but, you will be submitting your files still to your FTP account..
What forahobby did was make a login interface that as an admin you would log into.
Your first screen tells you how many submissions are awaiting authorization. Your job would be to double check the submissions for integrity. Say someone submitted a news story. You would proof read it, make sure it's relevant and not already posted. If all is good, you approve it and then it's dynamically generated on the website.
Same goes for file submissions. If someone submits a skin for Evox Dash, you will click on the "Check Link" link. If a Save Dialog box opens..then you know it's a good link. You can then approve it. But, if it just pops up a bunch of pop up windows then the download link is wrong and you have to delete the submission and notify the sender of their error.
As admins, we approve all cheats, news stories, reviews, files etc... Also, while still finding time to contribute ourselves. I'll admit it's tough, especially with all the time I spend contributing to the forum. On average I am at this site for about 3-4 hours per day!!

Im on here quite a bit myself. I have class twice a week, and the work I am assigned is done the same day. So in other words, I have alot of time on my hands. There is nothing more I would love to do than to help the site out in anyway possible. Same goes for themodgod.

I know I don't have 100 posts yet, but I will.
I uh, don't do anything at all, I spend 90% of my day online, not doing anything but watching stupid flash movies and reading posts in the forums.
I generally don't reply cause I dont have any hands on experience with modding.
Even if this isn't the "job" for me, I'm still willing to do anything you think I can handle.

Slamscaper you are a perfect candidate. We are looking for someone who is on the website daily and can check/edit or add new downloads to both the NORMAL DOWNLOADS and VIP DOWNLOADS sections..
Like RM mentions, i will make you a admin account with a seperate login and password from your normal account.. You can then log in and ADD NEW CATEGORIES, MOVE FILES and approve stuff. Just let me know via pm what you would like your admin password to be and i will set you up.
We really need someone to keep an eye on all the latest xbox downloads whatever they are... (even if you dont know what it does)..
I always read all the larger sites and get all my downloads from them.
Ocassionally i use IRC to get the latest dashboards, media players etc etc..
Bascially, when a new file comes out for xbox or pc (xbox related) it will be your job to upload it to the site and keep all the categories in a easy to find format.

Submiting news is easy.. You just surf around the net looking for the latest info.. RM (realmccloy) and myself (forahobby) normally use the same news sources over and over..

You can move/edit delete posts by looking down the very bottom right hand corner of the forums..
