Global Strike team puts you in command of your very own swat team, where each member is specially trained in a different area. One member of your team is a sniper and the other is a field technician. You can control these characters and tell them what to do by use of the d-pad, you can tell them to proceed or follow you. You can also command them to open doors in different ways, for example either using force or even explosive charges if you so wish.
In the games main campaign mode your will find twenty-one exciting levels for you to battle your way through. But its not all going round shooting anything that moves. As you are part of a police unit you have the opportunity to arrest and restrain some of your enemies. You get rewarded in the way of points for the number you manage to restrain.
Your team members come in very handy when disarming bombs and openings doors, but they are not very good at tacking down enemy you always have to be aware of where your team mates are and be ready to help them out of sticky situations. This can become frustrating at times and is one of the worst aspects of the game.
You cant really say that SWAT comes packed with extras as there is only the campaign mode which offers any fun. There is how ever a multiplayer mode which allows you to play through the game in co op mode there is also a death match mode which you can play with up to 4 people. There is however an online score board to upload your best scores to as well as downloadable content planned for the near future.
The games graphics are not exactly ground breaking but display a lot of detail and are more than adequate to make the game look good. About 60 % of your environment is breakable for example boxes and windows, which makes the game interesting to play.
The guns sound very realistic and even echo when fired in corridors boosting the realism factor dramatically. Your enemies also have some nice sound effects for when they are captured, there also is moans and groans as you shoot them. You team mates commands can become a bit repetitive at times but it doesn't spoil the game in any way.
This a fun game to play filled with action, itâ's slightly let down by its poor AI between team members but apart from that is a very entertaining play and a worth while purchase for any action game fan.
