You can not go on Xbox Live with the softmod enabled..If you do you will get banned...You can undo the softmod and then go on xbl..Either way, if you do the softmod please make sure you do a MS Backup from the options....This way if at anytime you want to remove the softmod there will not/should not be any problems.. _________________ Xbox v1.3

yer i knew that you couldn't go on xbox live with the mod turned off, is there an easy way of switching a softmod on and off? is it easy to do this softmod thing and are there any disadvantages from softmodding it than putting a proper mod chip in your xbox?
please give me some more feedback on how to do it guys
thanks heaps

Um, I'm couldn't tell you how, (I made a paperweight out of one trying) but just my 2 cents; a chip is well worth the money especially with the ease you can switch it off and on for XBL. Unless there is a way I do not know about, (Very possible) I think it would be rather tedious to repeatedly install/uninstall a softmod for XBL. Not to mention that it increases the chances of a mistake being made. _________________ XBOX v1.6:

thanks guys for your feedback.
yer i suppose i could use xbox connect instead, but its mainly just good for the popular games and not that many people are on other games like burnout 3 or anything. if you can turn off the mod chip via the software in a hardware mod easily then why wouldn't you be able to do it the same way in a softmod, is the switch in Evox?

oh k, i didn't know they still made them like that, because i asked about that somewhere and they said that the new modchips just use the software method intead. a physical switch would make it so much better

In the following Tut you provide.... When you say I will have the MS Dash, do I HAVE to install a hacked one? And is it true that if you "Coldboot" your Xbox, it will not startup the softmod?
YOUR TUT>>>>
Chapter 6: How do I do it? - Splinter Cell Install
1. Copy the contents of SID3.Splinter.Cell.Part1.Xbox-Hq to your memory device. Also copy SID3.Splinter.Cell.Part2.NTSC.Xbox-Hq or SID3.Splinter.Cell.Part2.PAL.Xbox-Hq as it's needed too. The best ways are to use a modded Xbox to do it (by unzipping the file and copying the contents to E:\) and then transfering to your memory card, or use a Mega X-Key or Action Replay to dump the ZIP files on to.
2. Make sure the gamesave is on your unmodded Xbox, then turn it off.
3. Insert Splinter Cell and turn your Xbox on. When you're at the main menu of the game, select "Load Game" and then highlight "Linux". Tress A to boot the Installer.
4. Install the Softmod. Please note this deletes the MS Dash from C Drive, hence why you have been told to use the backup feature.
5. Turn off your Xbox and insert the Auto-Installer Deluxe v2.0 Disc.
6. Go to "Install Softmod + MS Dash". This will automatically set up your drive with the Softmod and MS Dash. Please note you will still have to install a hacked dashboard.
