what hellblazer55 is saying is that ur mod chip WILL allow hds to be runnin unlocked ..... but its simple to make a new hd once u have a mod chip . u dont even need to use xboxhdm any more... just have a chip fitted run aid 3 and ajust some options....
KEEP in mind that in order to run ms dash i THINK u need to have ur hd locked.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

I can run the ms dash, it has to be patched to run. _________________

FOund a kit on Divenio. I will just get that one. I appreciate the help with all this. Hopefully they will be as easy to install as they say on the sites.
I think all of the V1.1's have solder filled LPC holes, mine did. It's a bit of a pain to get the solder out, but it not horrid.
You can use a can of compressed air, and give it a short (close range) burst when you get the solder hot. That should blow it out, but watch your leg or whatever is under it!
You might want to save $20 and install the pin-header since you have to solder anyway. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

A fiberglass pen should be good enough for the inexperienced it may take a bit but it will get the job done. _________________

I took a look and mine does have the solder in the holes. But I am comfortable getting the solder out of em. So I will just get the SMartxx v3 without the solder kit. Looks fairly easy to get to working on it.
