1.0 or 1.1 xbox the only way to really tell is open it up and look at the mother board theres a tutorial that helps you determine what xbox version it is.

just get a solderless mod chip it will be the easiest to install for you and there are many mod chips, just choose one that suits your price range. _________________

I found one at one of the chip sites. It is the SmartXX v3 Solderless. Heard any good stuff on these?
FOund a kit on Divenio. I will just get that one. I appreciate the help with all this. Hopefully they will be as easy to install as they say on the sites.

I will definately keep the site posted. Now with a mod I can just get any hd. Format it and prepare it with xboxhdm and it will work with the chip?

I had used xboxhdm on my 20g drive already. Just didn't have an eeprom to lock it. So once I get the mod chip I will just pop that one in there and boot it up with my AID 3.0 disk. And I should be off and going.

thats how mine is when the orignal harddrive went in it, the harddrive runs unlocked _________________
