Hello all!
I'm new here, and have just installed soft mod, using Splinter Cell. I backed up my MS dash and installed unleashX dash. I can't access FTP though. I keep getting a "connected," then "connection lost" message. I'm using Flashft, BTW. I have the ISP, user, and password correct and everything.
I also tried copying media center and emulators from a CD-R, but the drive wouldn't recognize the disc.
Help!

Hi Melf00 and welcome to HQ!
Most xboxes DO NOT read CDR.. You should try CDRW at the least or DVD-R.
Only Samsung XBOX DVDROM Drives read cdr and i doubt you have one.

Have you given your xbox a ip address on the same network as you pc/router? You will need to do this.
Another tip.. Turn off any firewalls until you get it working..
If you are connecting directly from your PC -- >> XBOX without a router or switch etc you should be using a CROSSOVER network cable.
i had the same problem just go into settings and switch it from static ip to dhcp...thats all i needed

Thanks for the help fellas. I got it working, and am currently enjoying my lovely modded xbox!
I do have another problem, though. I transferred about 80 MAME roms, and only like 20 show up. I put them in a ROM folder in the emulator, but only a few reigister. What gives?

You need to have the correct ROMSET for each version of MAME.
Its no different then the PC version.. Try rolling back to a older version of mame and you will find that the roms you have work.
