I modded my v1.0 xbox with a xecuter 2.6ce a few monthes ago, and just the other day, it began acting up. Whenever i plugged in the power cable, it would boot, and everything would load up fine, but after a minute or two, it randomly shuts off,and the only way to turn it back on is with the eject button(the small power button doesnt work at all). Ive narrowed out the hdd and dvd drive, and the power led never changes colors, and its running at an acceptible temp.

-any suggestions would help out a lot, thanks

Eventually, this machine will fail totally. Typically, when an intermittent problem like that occurs electronically, it will eventually totally fail.

You have something on the motherboard that is shorting out..wheter its a chip failing, a resistor/transistor...dunno. But, I have scene the exact same symptoms before in mobo's and eventually they just shit the bed.

I never bothered to chase the ghost that was causing the issue. I just replaced the board with a known good one and all my problems went away.

Just do yourself a favor. Unlock your HD if it is locked. This way, you will be able to use the HD on another motherboard. If that HD is locked and the mobo totally fails, you have a paperweight.
