Ok, I am not sure how most softmodded Xboxs are set up, but mine boots to the original dash, and I click on xbox live to get into the dash, or go through 6 steps in music to create a soundtrack that automaticly starts up my dash (EvolutionX).
Just last week, someone started updating Xbox Live on my xbox. I thought the mod was ruined because when I clicked on Xbox live after that, I got a generic error in 5 languages that said I need to contact Microsoft for support.
It turned out that the Mod was fine, I just could not get into the dash that way (clicking on Xbox live from the MS Dash) anymore. I used the other way. These were the direction that came with the box
(I bought it softmodded in an auction so I dont know how to actually mod it myself yet)
1:go to "music"
2:go to "the blank selection" (NOT audio cd)
3:go to "copy"
4:go to "copy"
5:go to "new soundtrack" (very important not to select the blank one )
6:go to "done"
This worked, everything was fine, except the same weekend, someone else used the box without asking me about it, and I think did exactly what the directions said not to do. I think he selected both blanks. Now I can't get into the dash anymore. It now gives me the same error if I try to use the soundtrack path.
There has got to be a way to get in without remodding the whole thing (which I don't know how to do anyway)

In the meantime, is there anyway anyone knows about to get me into the dash that is already installed?

that sounds like a very old mod. if you can't load up AID or a game that you can softmod with, i think you'll need to put a modchip in it to recover it. not sure how the old font and audio exploits worked or how they were done. it might be possible to use one of them but i have barely read about them since the new softmod techniques are so easy to do
