I had heard a little while ago 1.6s where done with. Now on a few sites I saw that all new Xboxs have 1.4 mobos. Can anyone verify this before I go buy 1 or 2? _________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic

one i got was a 1.6 i've since killed it because i assumed it was
a 1.4, teach me a?

We posted about this in the middle of last month, you must've missed.
MS was having a problem with a crop of 1.6's. But, they are not dead.. They are alive and well.
Basically, what I have found in my last batch of 20 machines. A little over half of them (12) were 1.4 mobo's with Phillips DVD Drives. They were all manufactured on .1-15-2005
The rest were manufactured on 01-17 or 01-18 and they were all 1.6 machines.
I did however recently get one machine that was manufactured on 01-17 to be a 1.4....so it is not an exact science. But, the 1.4 is alive and well but I wouldn't bet the bank on getting one.

Sine we're on the topic of mobo versions has anyone verified Aladdin's claim of the 1.6c hitting the shelves??
Supposedly very few chips even work with it. I am skeptical, as nobody else is reporting on this and no news source was listed for me to verify.
