I dont understand what bit torrent is and I think I am missing out. I looked in the tutorials and couldnt find anything. Does it work from the xbox or the pc. Is there step by step directions anywhere that I could follow. If not could somebody briefly describe what to do from the beggining. _________________ XBOX v1.1:

Basically, bit torrents are another way of file sharing. Like BearShare, mIRC, and other file sharing programs except with other files sharing programs you pretty much have a 1 on 1 connection. You find someone that hosts the file and then you connect to them and download.
The problem with that is, what if that person disco's, or they have a bad connection, and so on. It's not a relizble method.
With bit torrents, you connect to many people at the same time. You are only downloading bits of the file from each person instead of all from one person. This is more stable of a download, but in some cases a little slower.
But you also need to be running java on your PC.
you can find the latest Jave Runtime Evironment on the same page.
Then, you download a bit torrent file. The bit torrent file is a smaller file usually less than 45K.
You will open the file with the Azureus program and then tell it where to save the download. Once you complete those steps the file will start to download.

alright i got a game downloaded but the files are just 6 rar files and a .sfv file and an info file. I downloaded the pinball game off this site. Is there something I need to do to these files? _________________ XBOX v1.1:

Just moving up my post
alright i got a game downloaded but the files are just 6 rar files and a .sfv file and an info file. I downloaded the pinball game off this site. Is there something I need to do to these files? _________________ XBOX v1.1:

hey Goodson, you need to get WinRAR and then take the first piece of the game and open it in winrar. the first peice should be the one that ends in .rar. if theres not a .rar its the lowest numbered one, either .00 or .01. winrar should then combine all 6 peices into a single iso file which you can either burn to a disc or ftp onto your xbox's harddrive

i use azureus but torrents have become a little scarce with lawsuits being thrown at torrent sites. eXeem will be released in about 2 weeks which is an all in one bittorrent application. you search, find, and download right within it.
