guys,
I know it's been a minute but I need your help on something. I got the orginial GTA San Andreas for the xbox and I've already made a copy to a dvd due to game having that much scratches on it (MagicISO). right now, I'm reinstalling it to my HDD and when i try to load the game , it goes back to the xbox media center. I cleaned out my caches in the e:/ and have changed the region codes to from ntsc to pal to pal 60 and still no luck. my drive won't read it due to to the switches to turn on my modchip for my xbox. when those switches go down, it won't read the game. I'm really stuck and getting frustrated on this game and if anyone can assist me on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. This is one of those projects that makes me have no hair on my head as of right now. I have the german english version of GTA if that is any help for this situation.
Hello,
I`ve had this problem with GTA and XBMC, if you were to install unleashx as an application and use that to launch your GTA game and follow these few steps it`ll get it working.
In unleashx goto : system => settings => video display => video mode
change `auto switch` to `yes`
then select `ntsc j` for the multi region mode (if this doesnt work try the other options under multi region mode, its a bit trial and error but its the only way i managed to get it to play when using XBMC as my main dash)
Hope this helps. _________________

guys.....
Tried it and still the same issue. I'll keep trying it but at this point, I've managed to make twelve backups to my hdd without any issues..not one. So as of right now, gta is taking 2.9 gb on my hdd and can't play worth a lick...wow.
I heard of some stories about issues with gta san andreas.....anyone besides the video issues can be the problem??

I think GTA SA might need a patch to play, can't remember exactly. I remember a guy a year or so ago had this same problem, and it seems like he needed to patch the game to get it to work. _________________

I have my copy of GTA: SA on my Xbox, unpatched and it plays just fine. Never had a single issue with it.
Try using DVD2Xbox instead of doing it the way you are.

guys,
Over the weekend, i tried almost everything just like your posts said and still nothing. Hate to call it off but i checked all of the gta files and and the default and they are all there. So, in a way, I'm not givin in but I can't tfind a solution to this.Just weird.
Oh, yeah, the dvd2xbox doesn't work either..just says like 18 files are missin and it updated it with a newer version thru aidv4.30. If it did worked, I wouldn't have done the ftp in the first place.
I'll do so more research with craxtion that I read on the internet. something about reading the file directly thru the drive and hopefully tranfer the info directly thru ftp. tried it with qwix but gta isn't being recognized in the tray.
