Hey Guys. You must be vexed with me for not keeping the contact going. Its been a long time since I've been on xbox-hq.com, thing imy computer was down for sooooo long and i had finals at college so i was very busy. Well my xbox was working very well untill one day its just gave me error 21 and i'm not able to play any burn games on it only orginal cds.
When i originally modded the xbox i used the nkave version, thats the one with the xbox live feature. Thing is I don't use xbox live, never had xbox live either. Now my xbox isn't working properly. Have any ideas?

Hey buddy, long time no see, well it sounds like the ms dash got corrupt, a hotswap should fix that.

Thank you guys for your constant help. I had some problems getting on the site of recent. I was getting a message saying that xbox-hq is under construction and will be up shortly. anyways i got the ms dash from the AID3 cd. Do you think that it could work? Also doing a hotswap, i have 2 xbox as i said before. So i was experimenting on the older one. I booted the xbox waited for it to give me the MS Logo(The big X and the word microsoft beneit it) I disconnected the HD cable from the xbox before it tries to go into xbox live or error message. My computer started to boot before the xbox and I Pause/Break it before it reads the drives, I then connected the xbox HD to the secondary IDE cable which as no other drives on it. It gave me a message saying that the drive is smart bad or something like that. anyways i tried to let it pass the reading stages of the drives before pause/break it. The computer booted to windows and I have xplorer360 so i tried to locate the xbox drive it said FATX is not connected, i the scaned for hardware changes and that still didn't work. I was wondering what next I could try or maybe I didn't do something.

Following pirrup's tut. Here are the steps that i will be doing tell me whats right from wrong.
STEP 1: I have the MS Dash from The AID 3 cd.
STEP 2: unzipped xboxhdm 1.9. In the linux folder open the C folder and copy paste the files from the AID 3 (MS Dash) into the C folder.
STEP 3: go to the route of xboxhdm 1.9 and run the make-iso-win file. it should create a iso.
STEP 4: Burn the iso using dvddecrypter or ultraiso or alcohol to a cd/cd-rw.
STEP 5: Disconnect all drive in the pc except the cd drive
STEP 6: start the pc and before it reads for drive press the pause/break button.
STEP 7: Disconnect the IDE cable from the dvd drive in the xbox and the power cable. That should give me a error 11.
STEP 8: Disconnect the IDE cable from the xbox hd and connect it to the IDE cable of the computer hd. ( making sure that the computer hd is disconnected)
STEP 9: Connect the xbox hd and press any button to continue startup.
STEP 10: The cd that was burnt should be in the only drive connected to the pc apart from th xbox hd.
STEP 11: the computer should jump into a dos like mode. Choose option 1 to boot VGA console with xbox-drive utilities.
STEP 12: Type xboxhd to login, That should bring me to another menu, choose option 1 again to build a new hd from scratch. It should format the hard drive and copy the c folder and f folder to the hd.
STEP 13: After it installs both C and F. Shut down the pc and the xbox. Put back the xbox hd in the xbox and reboot. it should work.
AM I right? Thats what i get from the tutorial. I think thats it but i have doubts about the MS i got from the Auto iNstaller, i don't know if it could work, do u think it can. or i have to get the ms dash from the link provided above. My internet connection isn't that fast so downloading that would take me forever.
