i want to put some of my mp3's into the music section but i have no idea how to get my box to read them.
There's a few ways to acheive this. One, you can simply FTP them over to any folder of your choice and play them via UnleashX or XBMC. But you will not be able to use those songs in game.
You'll need an audio converter to get MP3's to wma's.

This is all dependent on your dashboard. Most of the newer dashboards (UnleashX, XBMC, Avalaunch, EvoX) all allow some kind of skin. UnleashX and Avalaunch allow you to download skins from online depositories, directly from your xbox. You just point, click and it does the rest.

That can border on the level of piracy, seeing as how some Content downloads you have to pay for. But most of the time, if they're made available online, you can put them onto your xbox using the instructions that come with the download.
