It doesn't do anything. It has been off for a week and it still gave me the Christmas lights. By the way, what is TSOP? We are gonna try a HOTSWAP at lunch today. Hope it works. Thanks for your help.

A H.S. won't work if you don't get to the M$ logo under the 'Big X'.
you might try to freeze (in your kitchen freezer) the HDD, but it's a long shot. (It needs to be in an anti-static bag and a Zip-Lock bag to keep the moisture out.)
BTW, you have checked the IDE cable and tried a different one, RIGHT?!? _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

well first of all if it is an xmas frag then a hotswap wont work. cuz it is a problem with the bios image/ bios chip.
but a tsop is a mod that enables flash write on the xbox so that you can use the bios chip on the motherboard and flash a new bios on it. such as the x2 bioses and evox bioses or even the ms bioses.
kind a like having a modchip but without using another chip.
have you tryied to unplugg the xbox from the wall and leaving it unplugged for a day or two, you have to power cycle it in this way. when i did it it would boot normally, i done this on more then one xmas frag box

The xbox has been unplugged for days. Will xboxhdm_v1.9 be of any use? Is there anyway to get the eeprom from a FRAG box? My understanding is that if I can get the eeprom, I can create a new hard drive. Is that correct?

well if it is a frag box then you have two choices as far as i know
1. you can borrow a modchip to boot it up a get the eeprom
2. desolder the eeprom chip from the frag box on solder it to the new motherboard.
does it give any error number at all, cuz on a frag box it is not a hard drive problem, as far as i know you have to use a modchip or get a new motherboard and hard drive combo or if it comes up do a tsop other then that the box is gone.
anyone correct me if im wrong, but thats what i understand from experience and tuts

dustyken: so its like this .... if u can get ur eeprom.bin then u can buy a hd and lock it with this eeprom .... softmods MUST have a locked drive
as where mod chips dont ..... u can try freeeze it .... mb it will hold on for a bit hopfuly enough to get nececeray info.....
of course we are doing this because we are assuming you DONT curently have a eeprom.....
i'd recommend a soilderless modchip .... xecuter 2.6 or 3 are good or an xenium ....

With your problem, you are correct. If you are able to get your Eeprom, you can build a new HDD and lock it with HDM and the M$ Dash files. That's why I told you this:

no u cannot get a eeprom from another xbox... it will just give u error code 06 ....
you see the eeprom makes the hd married to the moterboard so thats why it needs the eeprom from the motherboard on where u plan on puttin the hd .... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

he gus about the tsop it can be an xbox 1.0 - 1.5 only cuz of course ms fixed it on the 1.6, so only the 1.0 - 1.5
also gus he was talking about getting the eeprom off of the box that is fragging the one we are focusing on now

Did your buddy do anything before it started FRAGging that might've caused it?
BTW, doesn't sound like the eeprom to me... generally when eeprom gets currupted/erased, you'll get a flashing RED eject LED. A FRAG eject LED is usually indicitive of something else. _________________ OTB Mods.com

If your problem is a bad HDD, a chip WILL fix it. A chip will let you boot an UN-LOCKED HDD then you can use AID 3.0 to load any software you want and lock that HDD. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
