Post subject: SID Eeprom problem?

Hi I have installed SID 3.1 with the SC Pal exploit, seemingly successfully onto my 1.4 xbox.

I am using Unleashx as my default dash, and have installed Evox as an app.

During setup, I ensured to backup the C: drive, and the Eeprom, and all seemed to go well

I then used the backup option within Evox, and transferred C andE over to my pc, but the files in the backup folder don't seem right - they are in the E folder inside another folder called MS.
They are named - Audio/Fonts/xboxdashdata/etc folders and have other files including an xboxdash.xbe.

I know previously when I have backed up the eeprom on my chipped xbox, I created an Eeprom.bin and some other similar files.

Until I establish I have a backed up eeprom, I am reluctant to attempt to upgrade my HD.

Help appreciated

the ms folder that you're talking about is a backup of your C drive that the sid 3.1 makes for you when you use the backup options. also, if you made the backup of your eeprom with the sid 3.1 option, it places it in a different folder (can't remember the exact location right now), but there should be an option to move the eeprom.bin backup to E:\backup\eeprom\ from the sid 3.1 main menu. if you used the evox that you installed as an app to backup your eeprom, it should be in the folder where you installed evox (ex. e:\apps\evox\backup\). hope that helps

Thank you so much - the backup was exactly where you said it would be, within the Evox folders.

Panic over!

if you choose the backup option in evox, it will only backup the eeprom not the c drive. the backup of the c drive can be made with the softmod menu and the default location is in e:\backup\ms\ i believe. it will only be the original state if you do all this before you install the actual softmod.
