Okay... heres the deal. I softmodded my xbox with SID. Then I booted up AID 2.0 with the boot disk i made. I started backing up my HDD and left the room and someone shut off the xbox. Now when i start my xbox it goes to that green screen and says I need to contact customer service because my xbox is damaged. It'll play games, but all my games have ZERO saves on them now. So i can't boot up the SID from 007 anymore to try and fix it and MS Dash and everything seems to be gone.... Does anyone know what I can do to get my xbox back to normal? Is my HDD locked or is it gone? Help me plzzzzz..

wow that sucks, i say go with pirrups hotswap method it is pretty hard but its the only thing i can think of but in order to do that you need a backup of your c and d drive on your computer.as long as you have those your good. but have double checked if those saved games are completely gone because just makin a backup of your C drive should not do that. _________________ xbox v1.0

Yea.. i dont have a backup on my computer... I got on 007 to load a gamesave from my HDD and said no game saves on HDD... I think im screwed... I dont have MS Dashboard or anything... Can i just buy a new hard drive and install it? I want a bigger one anyway...

I put the gamesaves on there by memory card/action replay... I tried booting SID from the memory card, but it went back to that service your xbox screen... i'll try it agian just to make sure though... ok i tried it again and it still does the same thing. I got on Halo 2 and when i logged in it had my xbox live account on there still, so that tells me my hard drive was not neccisarily erased because the account wouldn't be on there if it was. So it must be locked. I need to find a way to unlock it.....???

when did you buy the memory card? if iit was in 2004 your fine but if you bought it this year then you cant use it at all they have protection from that kind of stuff. _________________ xbox v1.0

have you tried booting with the dvd/cd drive open?? as this should take you back to the sid screen,if the files are still on the hdd just a thought!!

I've tried about everything i can think of. I've tried putting the AID boot disc in and booting it, doesn't work. I"ve tried booting the SID from 2 memory cards (action replay memory, and XBOX memory card) doesn't work still goes back to the "requires service" screen. And yes i've tried to boot it with the DVD drive open. No worky... lol I think im screwed... Only thing i can think of to do is to make another boot disc with a different program that can maybe unlock my HDD or maybe just load a MS Dashboard.... again im pretty stumped. I also tried putting in an old Xbox live starter kit cd and that did at least somethin different. The Xbox logo would load up on the screen then it'd go black like it was going to go to the dashboard or something, but then it would just repeat the xbox logo screen again and again..... Anyway... if u guys dont think there is any hope im tempted to just get a new xbox.. so... any thoughts?

rather than getting a new box why dont you install a modchip,there are plenty of solderless options nowadays.this will enable you to get the aid disc to boot,which will let you start a fresh.If you cant get it to boot the dash or boot a dvd then you wont be able to ftp the files on so a modchip is really the only option you have,not sure if you can rebuild the hdd using a p.c program have seen other posts on here that claim it can be done but havent done it myself
