Hey,
First off, make sure you locked the drive. Did you use Chimp to copy the drives or did you just copy the contents of the hard drive to your pc, then Transferd the, over. ? Also make sure yuor jumpers are set to slave on your HDD, and master on the stock, but re-do this. beacuse error 6 basicly says it cant unlock the HDD, so make sure you also switch it to master when you are done hot swapping., if this is the method you are using.

i used a modded xbox with a x3 in it and ftped the contents of the stock hd to my pc then i put my new hd in the modded xbox and then copied it to my new hd. then i used hdlock.exe to lock it when i was done. then i put the jumper to cable select and put it in my xbox and i get the error code six. i have been nessing around with it a little bit and i can use the password i got from the stock hd to lock it but i have to unlock it with the same password i used before. i have also tried the password i got from my new hd using liveinfo and i still get the error 6. what do i need to do with the eeprom.bin files? and is there a way i could flash the bios of my softmodded xbox?

not to my knowdledge no. However, is your friends X3 soldered or solderless in his box? The easiest way to fix it (if solderless) would be to just put any chip in your box, use the AID and format the drive (to clear everything), copy the microsoft dash from AID, and then lock it again with the AID. Other than that, try formatting the hdd from the hard drive manager and start all over again _________________ Blue Chaos

what to do :
make a backup from softmodded xbox eeprom (using evox)
ftp C and all the drives over to your pc, from softmod -> pc
k now first take a backup from eeprom chipped xbox (if you want )
put the new hd in the chipped xbox and prepare it with aid
ftp all the data back to this disk from pc
put config magic on chipped xbox and put the backup eeprom from softmodded xbox into data folder.
update xbox eeprom (in configmagic)
now lock this new disk with configmagic
voila locked and ready to use in softmodded xbox
if you want the chipped xbox back to original eeprom :
upload config magic and put backup eeprom from chipped xbox in data folder
update xbox eeprom (in configmagic)

ok..ill try that. but this morning i ran into another problem. my friend with the chipped box is not working anymore. i put my new drive in it and ftped all of it and then i turned his box off and turned it back on and nothing came up on the screen. the xbox turns on but i get nothing on the tv. it worked fine one min then the next min it doesnt work at all. i tried to turn it on and ftp it but i got nothing. has anyone ever heard of this? and if you have please help me out. im just about ready to say screw it and go out and get a mod chip, but i really want to learn how to do this.
ps....my friends xbox is not a solderless. me and him soldered it in there about a month ago and it has been working great up until now.
thanks for all your help so far
