I wasn't really quite sure where to put this, so I'll put it in here. I'm sure in order for someone to help me you'll need to know this stuff; my box is modded, however, Xecuter2 bios(I think) and was running Evox originally and then Avalaunch. I got the bright idea to change my dash again to NexGen and used FlashFXP to replace the xbe,xml, and all that in the C partition. When I plugged it into my TV to admire my handywork only the orignal MS dash boots. So now, for about 5 hours now I've been trying to access my box's HD to no avail. I triad hot swapping, but Driver said filenames were too long( finding DLLs that worked for this prog took most of my time). And I couldn't get windows to show the HD in My Computer. I downloaded Boxplorer however I have no CD-RWs currently and I was wondering if I could run that off of a CD-RW to kind of fix this mess, or if I'm just screwed. Let me know if you have a solutiion! Hiya
All is not lost. Your HD won't show up in windows as it's a different file system. Your going to need an auto-installer disk to boot from, this will then allow you install whatever dash you want (and it should work too) aswell as any apps, there are some in the vip sections here, otherwise try and find slayers 2.6. You will need to burn it to at least a cd-rw, different drives will only read certain media.
If you can't get that to work then you can buy the disks from some websites.

THanks alot guys, and for future reference, is my mod a soft mod? Or is that only for the gamesave hacks?

as softmod is if you don#t have a chip installed as either can use the xecuter 2 bios. I had an an xbox the once that had a chip AND a softmod. i got real confused, I pulled the chip out and was still loading evox

I just have the Xecuter2 BIOS no chip ever installed, well I'm assuming I still have it loaded, it says XeCuter2 under the Xbox logo upon booting. But I'm on a 56k so I DLed an Auto Installer from someplace and it was around 15 MBs. But I can't get any CD-RW to load up on the box. I used Xiso, then Qwix to make an ISO file with dummy files to take up space and then burnt it using image brun in nero 6.. So no chip, no way to FTP, and can't DL the Deluxe Autoinstall seeing as it's 500 MB and I"m 56k, any suggestions?

You can still ftp with a softmod, but only if evox is working.
What country are you in? You can buy an autoinstaller if you can't download one or burn one

I'm in the US,. SOrry for the delay in replying. I finally got it to work right, it just didn't like most of the CD-RW's I was throwing at it. Once again i want to thank everyone for all of their help!
