Being quite new to the Modding world of the Xbox I need your expert view on what chip to buy.
What's you opinion??

Welcome Onslow!
I just finished installing an Xecuter 3 on a friend's Xbox. Hardware problems totally unrelated to the modchip prevent me from fully testing it out.
All the things I've read lead me to believe that is a full-featured modchip. As far as installation goes, it was really quite easy. I don't have a great deal of soldering experience, but the pinheader was pretty simple. Three other wires needed to be soldered to the motherboard, but the lcoation of the solder points made it fairly easy to solder. It worked the first time I fired it up!
I know RealMcCloy (from here on out, known as "The Iceman") will post about his "love affair" with the Xenium Ice, which also sounds like a great chip! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

personally i preffer to just flash the tsop ,
but if u want a chip i recommend the the xenium ,
i own one , its totally awesome , the only problem ive had with it
is that the solderless adapter disconnects a lot because of the poor design
and the bios flashing was a little tricky for the first time ,
besides that its been all i wanted it to be ,
......if you one of those honda owners with neon lights and 4 feet wing
and you want your xbox to look the same you might want to take a look the xecuter chip , it will prabably suit you better ,
later

I've changed my mind about the X3. I'm definitely rating it an "avoid" at this time.
After getting the unrelated hardware issues resolved, I can't get this thing to fire up properly and the smart-asses who run the forums on Teamxecuter.com are useless. They are either intentionally non-helpful or dumber than I am.
I think the X3 is just too buggy to recommend right now. Go with the Xenium! If you want to give the X3 a try, I may know where you could get a good deal on one that is virtually like new.... it was owned by a little old lady from Pasadena... she only played "E" rated games and NEVER used wireless controllers! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Stick with the Xenium Ice or SmartXX..
I lean to the Ice because of the sheer support documents that are available. It has a great OS and it's very easy to use.
You have a wide range of flashing options, and eeprom management options too.
The X3 has superior flash options with the added use of HTTP flashing, but too many bugs in it's early stage. As more stable bios' come available and are actually attainable, it will be a tough chip to overthrow.
For now...the Xenium Ice is in my mind...and yes, I know I get all emotional when I talk about them, the best chip to go with....
I gotta go kiss my chip....later all.

Yes, this has come in very handy! I've already flashed 4 BIOS that don't work via HTTP!
