Played Paintball Revenge and shut off box. turned on next day and it booted to ms dash. No biggie I can usually do a igr and get to the evox dash. No such luck. Did the original mod with a rented copy of mech. So I went over to game crazy and bought a copy of mechassault. Loaded it and tried to run Linux but it says "unable to load saved game". Tried and copy the sid4 game save back over to the harddrive just incase it somehow became corrupt but it still didn't work. What do I do now. Anyone got any ideas.
Stock 1.6 united states box with 605 dvd drive and a 160 GB seagate harddrive.

ok so you put the files again and what happend after you poped game? did it freeze? black screen? loaded linux???? sid 4.5 shold be 2 files.... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Not sure what you mean. when I click on run linux in mechassualt it states unable to load saved game. It should however go to the sid 4 installer. Oh and it's not sid 4.5 it's sid 4

I did find something interesting. when I highlight "run linux" in the game save menu on mechassault, controls difficulty and level all say unknown. Which in the installer manual says I have a bad copy of mechassualt. I guess this means the mech that i just bought is no good and I should take it back. Please let me known if the sounds correct

Oh I've copied the files over like 10 times already just hoping it will work again. I think I'm going to buy a copy of splinter cell or agent under fire. The sid manual makes no reference of a possible bad copy with these games. I don't know how to tell what ver mech I have, but it's got to be that because it worked great the first time but with a diferent disc.

It think this one is going to take somebody good to be able to fix it. I bought agent under fire and tried to load the soft mod. same shi*t. dialog box appears that say unable to load mission. I also notice my ms dash ver has changed I think, it now says k 1.004043.01 D 1.00.5960.01. Somebody please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only thing I can think of, is the fact that the game discs he's using are very new like platinum hits.
my question is.
-are you using the same discs you were using to softmod the first time?
my suggestion is, to completely delete all gamesave entries of the game of exploit and put the linux saves in there all fresh, and run the game to load the exploit.
there shouldn't be anything stoping it, unless your game discs aren't compatible. _________________ Xbox v1.1

No the first disc I used was mechassault and I rented it from hollywood video, the auf I just got is used from game stop and it's an old copy. I going to plug in the original 10 gig xbox harddrive and use chimp to reload the 160 gig. I believe chimp will format the drive so I will lose all the data on the drive, but oh well at least I'll have my softmod back. I'm almost postive the paintball revenge did something to make all this happen.

if thats the case then just hotswap w/out an eeprom.... its faster then chimp super faster and i belive chimp or what ever its called wont work. but all you have to do is make sure all your saves and exloits are gone and get new ones from aid 3 .... it should only be 2 files .... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

yes you were right. the auf is platinum edition and the mech say not for retail sale. So i think the problem is game versions. Howere I tried using xboxhd but can't get drive to unlock. retried password for eeprom, looks llike a wep key about 25 characters long. I think this weekend i'll go around to the game stores and see if i can find the correct copy of auf

wtf? why would you want to unlock your hd and make your xbox trash? unless your talking about hotswaping... but thats only temporarly unlocking so you can edit the content inside of your pc .... not unlocking permenet!....
