I have a HD cloning machine available to me. Is it possible for me to clone a modded XBox's HD to a blank HD and then put it in an unmodded XBox? Or even a better question would be if I could clone the unmodded XBox's HD to the new 80GB HD and then clone the files from the modded XBox to the unmodded machine. I dunno! Help me out. I am trying to find the best way to modify my XBox without having to do all of the softmods because my DVD drive is broken.

To do all this you would need the eeprom. The only way to retieve the eeprom is to have the box modded.

A softmodded box requires the harddrive to be locked to the eeprom of the box it is sitting in. If a hdd is unlocked or locked to another xbox, it will not function.

If you do have the eeprom, you will be able to clone a harddrive. Then lock it.

What type of mod would I need to do to get the eeprom? And if I have a premodded XBox with the Xecuter chip inside how could I perform the necessary modifications to the unmodded box?

Suppose I clone the unmodded XBox's HD to a 80GB HD and then swap out the HD's. Will this work to at least allow me to already have enough disk space for games, apps, etc.? Shouldn't the HD still be "married" to the system? And if so, what would need to be done next considering that I can borrow a Xecuter solderless chip.
